Your Holiday Planner is launched!

I’m delighted to announce today, that Go2 Holiday Research – the business I set up in 2008 to provide a new approach to travel – has a new brand identity: Your Holiday Planner.

Your Holiday Planner offers a bespoke holiday planning service for busy families and professionals who want more from their holiday.

Back in 2008, research showed that 55% of internet users booked their holidays online with only 7% booking on the high street. It underlined that people wanted the freedom to choose, create and compare holidays for themselves.

However, empowerment has its downsides. Typing a “cottage in devon” into the search engines meant hours scouring the internet in search of the perfect accommodation for you/your family.

Go2 was set up to offer busy people a new approach to planning their holidays, who wanted the flexibility of building their own holiday but didn’t have the time (or know-how) to do it.

Since then, helping clients to save time and discover holidays that are different from the mainstream, has meant my business has gone from strength to strength. It’s also underlined what clients most appreciate – understanding their needs, personal recommendations, freedom to create their own itinerary (but not actually having to spend time doing it) and expertise in holidays that are different from the mainstream.

The new brand reflects all these key benefits. I love the fact that the service is neatly encapsulated in the name. Both the logo and the website underline the simple and approachable values of my service.

The new website has three new features:

  1. Integrated blog; I started my travel blog www.yourtravelplanner.co.uk in 2009 and I’ve been delighted with how well it’s been received. By bringing the blog into the main site, readers have a single point of entry to the blog and all the other site features.  My web designers, b:web, are firm believers of integrated blogs and you can read their thoughts on why blogs should be integrated with websites.
  2. Recommended Stays; Review sites provide useful insights, but my clients really value a personal recommendation, either from me or one of my contributors. So the new site has a directory of recommended places to stay that’s searchable by location and type, with links to a the review (where there is one). And to help readers, places that are greener are highlighted too. Start searching for recommended stays here.
  3. Travel Gems; Travel Gems is the new name of the Email Club. As well as the usual quick-to-read holiday offers, tips, ideas and the latest reviews, subscribers will now receive Global Gems – a monthly round-up of what’s on around the world. To celebrate the launch of Your Holiday Planner, we’ve partnered with In One Clothing, a fabulous range of multiway clothing (perfect for travelling light). You could win one of their apron wraps if you sign up for Travel Gems now (see the box on the right hand side).

I’m very excited about what lies ahead for Your Holiday Planner and I would love to hear your thoughts on the new brand!

A special thanks to the ‘branding team’ for their input, hard work and support: Logo design, Jamie Smith; Marketing/Strategy, Jupiter Jasper; Web Designers, b:web (read the story behind the Your Holiday Planner website).
